Q: How long have you been designing?
A: I’ve been designing for the past 7 years.
Q: What made you want to go into interior design?
A: Growing up in Ukraine I was always an artistic girl who wanted to make the world a more beautiful place. After moving to the United States in 2014 I developed a strong interest in art and design and started learning how to bring my ideas to life in the form of spaces designed to meet people’s vision of a comfortable lifestyle.
Q: What is the most important thing you’ve learned in your time as a designer?
A: Everyone knows life is full of compromises but the most important thing I’ve learned as a designer is to make sure that the main space of your home is not sacrificed in a redesign. Always thinking about my client’s needs and showing possibilities that pertain to their space is a priority.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being an interior designer?
A: My favorite thing about being an interior designer is being able to recognize the beauty that surrounds me every day. Letting beauty be the lens through which I see the world, and watching my world in turn become more beautiful.
Q: Do you have a favorite room to design for?
A: The kitchen is absolutely my favorite room to design. I strongly believe that kitchen is the most important room in your house because that’s where all the magic happens by the cook’s hand and heart. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love delicious foods shared with your family at the dinner table?
Q: What is your favorite style to design?
A: I love to design timeless contemporary spaces. I always incorporate my client’s ideas combined with my professional touch to create a warm and perfectly balanced space. My approach is to bring a room together through luxurious simplicity, clean lines, gentle plays on texture, and a few decorative pieces.
Q: What is one thing you’d love for your future clients to know about you?
A: I want my clients to know that I will be by their side every step of the way. As fun as it may look on the outside, renovation can get tricky at times. Making my clients comfortable by clear and continuous communication, and keeping them in the loop throughout the project is what I always do. Excellent communication skills, being able to explain my work and break down complex terms to help clients understand things better is just as important as the creative part of my job.
Q: If you could design for anyone in the world who would it be?
A: One person I didn’t get a chance to design a kitchen for is my grandmother. She used to be an amazing chef and she taught me how to cook. Sweet memories of her laughing and cooking in the kitchen keep me warm to this day.
Q: What’s a fun fact about yourself?
A: I’m a super adventurous person who loves to spend time in nature, taking risks with many outdoor sports activities. Nature world is my greatest teacher not only in design but life in general. The inspiration that I get from nature is endless.
